Lisa Andersen-Desautels is a Certified Information Professional in the field of data management and information governance. Her Fiancé and business partner, Kirk King, played a critical role with the business and was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Grade 4 in April of 2018. He died 5 1/2 months later. It was her experience in trying to care for him in this process that sparked the King Project to help those caring for loved ones diagnosed with GBM.

Dedee is an RN and owner of a consulting firm that provides education, advocacy, and collaboration regarding cannabis and other natural therapeutics.  She has served as an RN for over 20 years with a focus on home health.

Her husband, Bill, was diagnosed with GBM in October 2019.  Together they have navigated the standard of care as well as complementary adjunct therapies and are still in the heat of the battle with this horrible cancer.  Her experience as a nurse and caregiver has driven her to help others in the hope that they will not have to endure the hardships of so many.

Doreen Wickstrom

Doreen Wickstrom is retired from the construction industry where she worked as an
Office Manager for the last 18 years.  She’s worked in the accounting field for most of her career.  Doreen’s daughter was diagnosed with Grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme in July 2015 and lost her fight in October 2016 at the age of only 30 years old.  After being her daughter’s primary caregiver during her journey, she has developed a passion to bring awareness to this horrible disease in hopes that a cure may soon be found as well as give hope and support to others that may now unfortunately be on this path.

Kim Peterson

Kim Peterson is president of GEM Chain Bar Inc. a manufacturing business located in central Idaho. Kim and her husband Rick owned and operated GEM until Rick was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Mulitforme IV on Aug. 2018. Rick died a short 5 1/2 months later. During Kim’s time as a caregiver she found many helpful resources and services. She would like to help make this information readily available to other GBM caregivers and patients. Kim is a mentor to other GBM caregivers through Imerman Angels.

Dr. Laurie Minns

Assistant Professor, Biology at University of Montana

Missoula, MT

Laurie Minns is an Assistant Professor in Biology at the University of Montana. Trained as an Immunologist, Dr. Minns now teaches human anatomy and physiology courses to future medical professionals. Her research interests include evaluating new approaches to STEM education and in understanding the glioblastoma patient caregiver experience. Her husband, Van, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in June, 2019. Together they are raising three daughters and fighting this terrible disease.

Stacy L. Nelson is a Clinical Professional Counseling Intern who works in the field of mental health. She and her husband Steven Nelson served a combined 37 years in the U.S Army & U.S Army National Guard. Her husband was diagnosed with GBM grade 4 in May of 2019 and he passed away 5 months and 3 weeks later. During this time she became his full-time caregiver and they faced many challenges. This lead to her wanting to help future GBM patients and caregivers.

Dr. Scott Glickman is a board-certified neurosurgeon with Las Vegas Neurosurgical Institute for Spine and Brain Surgery with subspecialty training in neurotrauma and neurocritical care, complex spinal disorders, and acute care neurosurgery. He has extensive experience with traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, spinal tumors, brain tumors, DBS, brain recovery, and neurovascular disorders. He is involved in ongoing clinical research.

Arlynn Krauss is attorney experienced in the states of Illinois and California. Her background includes litigation in the areas of injury, contract and employment law. Her husband, Bobby passed away from Glioblastoma on March 15, 2019. Bobby is a tissue donor. His brain, brain stem and spinal cord were donated to the Brain Tumor Bank at Northwestern in Chicago.
